How to play Golden from KPop Demon Hunters

Golden is the biggest hit (so far!) from the 2025 streaming sensation KPop Demon Hunters. Whilst not what you may think of as a ‘guitar song’ Golden is perfectly playable on guitar. This chart adapts the electro accompaniment parts of Golden to create a playable guitar part. Good luck Demon Hunters!

Chords: C G D Em D6 Cmaj7

Pick or Fingers? Use what works best for the type of guitar you are playing.

Acoustic or Electric? Electric guitar best fits the sound of the original but you can also play Golden on acoustic.

Can I play the chords in the verse? Yes, if the bass riff is too fast for you, or if you can’t play it whilst singing then use the chords indicated, as per the intro example.

How does the timing work? The 12/8 meter of Golden makes it look difficult, and the triple-based rhythm makes it feel fast. Our suggested rhythms are not as busy as the original track; we have ‘uncluttered’ it for young players. To simplify it you can think of 12/8 as a quick 3/4 ; think of each beat as “1 2 3“ ~
